WATCH “The Conductor,” Kobe Bryant’s New Nike Commercial Featuring an Otis Redding Classic [FULL VIDEO]

Kobe Bryant and Otis Redding

Last night, millions of sports fans witnessed one of the most incredible last games by a player in any sport.  Although we also checked out the Golden State Warriors on and off to see if they would break the single season games won record (they did), we were mainly focused on the last effort by Kobe Bryant.  Registering an amazing 60 point game, Kobe went out in splendid fashion.

During the game, there were a number of flashback moments and tributes played by former teammates and many of today’s star players.  All were filled with adulation and respect for this amazing player, who spent 20 years as a Los Angeles Laker.   One highlight was an amazing commercial from Nike called “The Conductor,” which featured many of Bryant’s famous opponents like Rasheed Wallace, Paul Pierce and even the Chicago Bulls Mascot among others.  The ad features these players singing their rendition of “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long,” a soul music classic by the late great Otis Redding from his 3rd album,  Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul.

In our ongoing effort to connect the past and present, we wanted to present the ad along with an incredible live performance of the track performed live for your enjoyment.  Check out both and let us know what you think.
