LISTEN to De La Soul and Usher on a New Track “Greyhound”

Amid the sometimes cacophonous din that is modern hip hop (read: most of XXL’s freshman class), it is great to escape the madness to the oasis that is De La Soul.  “Greyhound” is a melancholy number that recalls country to big city escapes like Stevie Wonder‘s “Living For the City” or even Gladys Knight and the Pips‘ “Midnight Train to Georgia.”  Usher’s brooding vocals provide a nice accent and although the track is not necessarily radio friendly it will certainly complement some of the other tracks we have heard.

Prior to the release of their much anticipated new LP, and the Anonymous Nobody, on August 26, the group has been on quite a tear.  In addition to the recently dropped “Drawn” with Little Dragon, they have released a number of teaser tracks on their YouTube page from the LP including a collaboration with Snoop Dogg called “Pain” and another joint called “Action” among others.  In addition, it was just announced that they will be performing live on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on August 22.

Enjoy!
