Restoration Rocks! music festival will take place at Restoration Plaza located at 1368 Fulton Street (between Brooklyn and New York Avenues) in the Bedford-Stuyvesant (Bed-Stuy) neighborhood of Central Brooklyn.
Launched in 2007, Restoration Rocks! seeks to highlight and celebrate the rich artistic legacy that Bedford-Stuyvesant is renowned for. Every year, the most dynamic established and up-and-coming Brooklyn musicians from a variety of genres are showcased. They epitomize both the talent and social consciousness that defines the Bed-Stuy music scene.
Restoration Rocks! is one of the featured events kicking off this year’s Bed-Stuy Alive! festival with its theme “Live Healthy. Live Well. Live Green.” Now in its ninth year, Bed Stuy Alive! celebrates the rich history and diversity of the local community – from delicious foods and unique crafts to local musical talent and historic brownstones.
The 2013 Restoration Rocks! music festival is also sponsored by Centric, Capital One, Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District, HealthPlus – Amerigroup, and Applebee’s.
For the first time, Restoration Rocks! is collaborating with Blazetrak to present an online talent competition where up to two artists will be selected for the chance to perform on Bed-Stuy’s coveted music stage. Artists are encouraged to sign up. Submission guidelines are at www.blazetrak.com/restorationrocks
