As far as mainstream America goes, there is no blues without B.B. King. The man who in the ’60s catapulted the Black American genre of lamentations into the public eye, B.B. King rightfully earned the title “The King of Blues.” Though he stood on the mighty shoulders of legends such as Bessie Smith (whose biopic airs on HBO tomorrow), this man lived up to become a mighty legend. Regarded as one of the best guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone, B.B. King influenced so many musicians such as Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana. We honor B.B. King for all that he has done to set to music the story of our lives.
The thrill is NEVER gone away!
Rest in Power to the King of Blues, B.B. King (1925 – 2015)
