soulheads, this is an engaging piece about music from an important yet under-appreciated region in hip hop music – Memphis, Tennessee. With it’s cross state major city, Nashville, being known as one of the greatest generator of American music, and other places like Atlanta and NOLA being strong holds for Southern hip hop, Memphis can be overlooked. But considering it is the birth place of Academy Award winning artists Three Six Mafia, Memphis has a rich history in hip-hop.
