Plain and simple, this is dope!  Real music like this inspires us each day to keep doin’ it!  While you are complaining about some of the garbage on the radio, you should be spending your time tuning in to amazing new flavors like this.  Peep this and spread the word.

Funky, soulful and REAL, this Brooklyn-based group, The Revelations, should on their way to success. They describe themselves as “the raw essence of classic soul, funk and blues with a sharp modern edge.” We totally agree and love love the lyrical tenderness and groove in tracks like Mama and Higher admire the ability to play outside of the box on Why When Love is Gone and It’s Ok. Just when you think you have them pegged, they slow it down with ballad The Game of Love, which reminded us other bands like Tony Toni Tone’ or Mint Condition.  Finally, we really enjoyed the Gladys Knight and the Pips bluesy rework in Got To Use My Imagination.

Honestly, there is something on here for everyone. They have a fresh sound which is very tough to achieve these days. Kudos!

We’d really love to see these cats live…OH WAIT..We can. Check them out TONIGHT opening for Kindred the Family Soul In NYC.
