Deniece Pearson is best known for her amazing work as the lead singer for British quintet 5 Star in the 80s. The group, which was widely regarded as the “Jacksons” of the UK, rose to fame on the success of a string of singles like “All Fall Down” and “Let Me Be The One” among others. Since then, Deniece has made a number of attempts at a solo career with some success. This new single, which we really dig, should help her build momentum for her forthcoming LP.

Special Guest on the UK leg of the Jacksons Unity Tour has been announced as Brit award winner, Grammy nominee and former lead singer of Five Star Deniece Pearson
After taking a career break to raise her two children, Deniece went on to receive outstanding recognition for her performance in West End musicals Thriller Live and Respect La Diva, then Heavy support from Sir Tom Jones in The Voice, Deniece is now back in the public domain with her stunning new single Close to Nowhere.
This is the first track to be lifted from her solo album, scheduled for release in June 2013. Deniece has been working on this record over the past five years, via song writing retreats in Switzerland (alongside, in one case, a certain Jessie J), which features an intensely intimate collection of songs Shes Not Anyone, Imprint and Here I Am – that rake over the coals of relationships gone sour, her father’s recent death, and her own personal growth.
