Prince Smashes Vintage Guitar Belonging to The Roots Member

Anyone following this site knows we LOVE Prince‘s music.  However, over the past few years, he has certainly done a lot to irritate fans and supporters of his.  One great example was how he issued a cease and desist lettter to artist Troy Gua for his Le Petit Prince sculpture.  And even more recently, Prince posted a video on his new site, but CHARGED fans to see it.   REALLY?

Anyway, after an amazing performance recently on the Jimmy Fallon show, Prince ended his his classic song “Bambi” by tossing a borrowed and vintage 1961 Epiphone Crestwood guitar that belongs to Captian Kirk Douglas of Fallon’s house band The Roots into the air and letting it crash. To add insult to injury, Prince refused to sign the guitar. WOW!

Douglas tweeted out this picture with the caption “Purple Pain”:

And then tweeted:
Prince smashed someone else’s 1961 Epiphone on ‘Fallon’_Death and Taxes
