Lauryn Hill Scores Big at the Blue Note

We are really happy to hear that according to the Village Voice, Lauryn Hill’s recent 3 night stint at the legendary Blue Note in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in Manhattan, went off without (much of a) hitch. Reportedly, she started nearly 4 hours late (11:57pm vs. 8p start time) and launched into a set reminiscent of this Summer’s Rock the Bells concert, which featured nearly unrecognizable versions of classics like Lost One, When it Hurts So Bad and To Zion. We are happy to hear she was able to pull it together for the sake of the crowd and her legacy despite the lateness. Her recent new song ‘Repercussions’

Our only knock is that the recent performances seem a bit self absorbed, which is ok, we guess for rock stars, but to ask fans to wait for 4 hours just shows a lack of respect for those that are your biggest advocates.
