This footage is simply incredible and courtesy of Brooklyn BodegaQ-Tip, in the midst of all the critical acclaim of the recently released Beats Rhymes and Life documentary, is joined onstage by uber producer/rapper Kanye West in this year’s 7th installment of the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival in DUMBO (around the corner from the Soulheadquarters).  The festival has featured a wide array of hip hop legends, notables and up and comers.   This year was no exception.  Well done everyone!

Fort Greene Fest Flyer

Kudos to Danny Castro and the organizers and hosts of the Fort Greene Fest’s Kick off event featuring hip hop icons Q-Tip and Pete Rock.  Grammy Award winner, Q-Tip, blazed the way with the legendary Native Tongues crew featuring the Jungle Brothers, De La Soul and Black Sheep among others and then achieved solo success across contemporary hip hop and R&B.  Pete Rock is the legendary producer and rapper who was one-half of seminal rap outfit, Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth, who rose to fame on the strength of their hit T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You) which pays homage to fallen dance Trouble T. Roy of the group Heavy D. and the Boyz.  This function looks to be a must go and will likely be packed so get your early tickets now by emailing ft.greenefestrsvp@gmail.com.

We hear that the drinks at Hanson Dry are much cheaper and former Moe’s Bartender, Jamie, is the bartender on Saturdays so show him some love. Hanson Dry is 925 Fulton Street.
