Prince’s legendary music is not the only aspect of his life that will ensure that his legacy will endure. This short film, which was directed by John Heck and made in conjunction with his family, Van Jones, and many others, highlights just how much this brother contributed to the World off the stage. Featuring the likes of Harlem Children Zone’s Geoffrey Canada, the aforementioned Van Jones of Dream Corp, and Black Lives Matter’s Alicia Garza among others, we learned so much more about how he has helped arts, legal and social causes without wanting any kind of recognition.
“Stop looking for credit. We’re supposed to take care of each other.”
Fans like us have been aware of these efforts for quite a while but for those who don’t know, this will certainly be a great way to start the week. Enjoy!
In case you missed it, check out this CNN interview with Van Jones that happened shortly after Prince’s untimely death this past April.
