Maxwell Invites Internet Sensation Lucas Holliday to Perform with Him This Friday in Detroit

Maxwell Invites Cashier Lucas Holiday to Sing with Him Onstage in Detroit

Unless you live under a rock, you must have heard by now about Lucas Holiday, the Lansing, Michigan Dollar General cashier who was captured singing Maxwell’s hit “Ascension.”  Since the video was posted on Facebook on the day of the U.S. Presidential, it has received nearly 500K views, 13,000 shares and more than 1,400 comments.   The cashier appeared on Good Morning America this morning and talked a bit about singing on his job and his band Tell Yo Mama.

In a surprise moment, GMA host Robin Roberts and team presented him with a video recorded by none other than Maxwell himself.   The singer, who is currently on tour with Mary J. Blige, will be performing this Friday at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan (near Detroit) on the King and Queen of Hearts tour and invited Holliday to sing with him. Upon gleefully accepting, he jumped into a goosebump inducing rendition of Luther Vandross/Dionne Warwick’s “A House is Not a Home” amid studio audience applause.  If you live in the Detroit area, this will not be one to be missed.
