Since he dropped his Indigo Child mixtape last year, we’ve been all ears when it comes to Raury’s music. The highly-touted, hyper-talented Atlanta native possesses a penchant for clever songcraft that belies his 19 years and a kaleidoscopic sound that’s thankfully tough to define. As evidenced by previous singles “God’s Whisper,” “Cigarette Song,” and “Devil’s Whisper,” Raury sprinkles dashes of soul, hip-hop, rock, folk and other sonic ingredients for a uniquely satisfying pop gumbo that’s equal amounts cerebral and visceral.

Unveiled this week, new single “Friends” is the latest offering from Raury’s forthcoming debut album All We Need, due in stores October 16th. Featuring revered guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine fame, the song is the vagabond Raury’s wistful, chilled-out tribute to all of the friends he’s made traversing the world. In the accompanying video, Raury and a friend endearingly strike out on an impromptu roadtrip from Atlanta to Chicago, hitching rides and hanging out with fans along the way.

“Friends” is an enticing teaser of great things surely to come on All We Need, which includes contributions from RZA, Big K.R.I.T., and Danger Mouse, among others. Enjoy the full video below, plus a few bonus clips for good measure.
