Prince on Arsenio Hall Recap + ALL PERFORMANCES

Prince on Arsenio Hall Recap + ALL PERFORMANCES @3rdEyeGirl @arseniohall @therealshelbyj @livwarfield

For the 3 people who were not tuned in to Arsenio Hall last night for the Prince takeover, we offer this recap:  Prince Showed. Prince Proved.  After an hard rocking opening number, FunkNRoll, with his all girl band, 3rdEyeGirl, Prince sat and spoke with Arsenio Hall about a number of wide ranging topics including the state of the music business and his late night antics back in the day with Hall.   Although Prince typically avoids interviews, he seemed quite open last night.   In an effort to really reach his fans, Prince participated in an audience question and answer session and even helped 1 couple break up.

For those (like us) who have been down since day 1, this effort proved equal parts awkward and funny as evidenced by the question about Prince’s pet peeves.  As it turns out, Dave Chappelle is not one of them.  Check his response:

Prince protege, Liv Warfield did her thing with her performance of Soul Lifted and certainly raised her profile with her passionate performance. Prince also add the classics She’s Always in My Hair and Mutiny (with a hint of the Time’s Ice Cream Castles). Although new Prince fans think Mutiny is new, it is almost as old as Purple Rain and was originally performed by The Family.

All in all, it was an amazing performance and interview.  Both 3rdEyeGirl and New Power Generation (on Mutiny) were on point musically and even the background singers from NPG including the powerful Shelby J brought their A game.  Super job!
