The World of Music is Now Open Again

mp3ify logo
We realize we might be late to this party but we recently came upon www.mp3ify.com and we absolutely love it! It allows you to create mp3 files from videos on www.youtube.com. For anyone that has been disappointed to search iTunes and not find that rare gem, this is a game changer. We have sampled several options in the past for this function but this tool actually works seamlessly. Give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

Jay Z Decoded now the liner of new Gucci Jacket

No, we cannot make this up. Jay Z has created quite a stir with his new book, Decoded, which claims to explain many of his lyrics from his career. Now, pages of the book are showing up in the strangest places, like the jacket in the photo above. We love it. It’s a unique way of garnering press for the release and is quite guerilla….is that even a term to describe this type of marketing anymore. Either way, good look Jay.

New D’Angelo Tune “Glass Mountain Trust”

We know that this has been on the rumor mill for some time, but we recently listened to the new D’Angelo song “Glass Mountain Trust”.   We are typically huge fans of D but are left wanting for something that feels like he really cares about it craft.  For now, this Mark Ronson collab seems to be an unfinished concept (that was actually released) so for that he gets a pass from us.  This brother has created such solid cuts in the past that we have to believe that he was just testing the waters.   You make the decision.

Michael Jackson’s New Song “Breaking News”…Is it really him

Michael Jackson Breaking News

Michael Jackson Breaking News

We just checked out the new MJ song, Breaking News. While there is some legitimate doubt that this is in fact, Michael Jackson, I feel the vocal effects are to blame rather than an impostor. I don’t buy the conspiracy theories any more than I am still buying vinyl…oh wait, I just bought some last week. Oh well. That said, the song sounds a bit dated and even made me feel it was an outtake from the Dangerous album and his work with Teddy Riley during the early 90s. Overall, it was just aaaiiight! It’s not a bad listen but not legendary by any means. Hopefully, the posthumous release of his forthcoming album, Michael, will produce a classic to go alongside his other masterpieces.

Prince discusses finding “The One”

Prince Rogers Nelson

We love this rare interview that Prince conducted with Good Morning America several years back during the New Power Soul era. It’s important to note that Prince went years without doing interviews but then came around once he decided to release material on his own. It’s amazing how focused he appeared to be on Mayte in this interview. Hindsight is 20/20 but I find it amazing and sad how much in love people can be 1 day and then not in each other’s live’s the next. It’s life I guess but still sad.

Dego from 4Hero Talks about What’s Next…

As a DJ and music lover, I have always respected the contributions this brother has made. I can feel his frustration in the lack of cohesiveness and the continual struggle for independent artists.

Love to hear that even innovators think about what’s next. Good music by 4 hero
